The Rivers State Judiciary Panel of Inquiry, established to investigate the destruction of several local government secretariats, has summoned the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike to appear before it on November 19th.
The summons was announced in an advertorial signed by the panel’s chairman, Justice I. R. Minakiri. The invitation for Mr. Wike follows requests from individuals in the Emohua Local Government Council, who submitted a memorandum to the commission along with video clips sourced from the internet related to the case.
The panel stated that a copy of the summons and the video clips had been sent to Mr. Wike via courier service. They advised him to review the materials and take appropriate action regarding their content.
Additionally, the commission has invited several politicians associated with the FCT Minister, including APC member Tony Okocha, former Ikwerre Council Chairman Samuel Nwanosike, former Eleme Council boss Obarilormate Ollor, and some allies of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. The panel is scheduled to conclude its sessions on November 21st.
