The newly elected chairman of the Etche Local Government Area in Rivers State, Hon. Chima Njoku, has taken a strong stance against land-grabbing activities in the area.
Earlier today, during a press conference addressed to the people of Etche, Chairman Njoku declared an unwavering commitment to combat land grabbing, particularly against those who unlawfully seize property using fake court orders.
He announced that, effective immediately, all land disputes should be directed to the council secretariat, where they will be handled by his office.
Chairman Njoku also emphasized that throughout all 19 wards in the local government, no bulldozers would be permitted to operate. He urged anyone who witnesses violations of this order to report them without hesitation.
“We must put an end to land grabbing in our community. As long as I am the executive chairman of this local government, I will ensure that we foster lasting peace for everyone,” he stated.
