Taraba Tiv Youth Progressives Mission (TTYPM), a progressive minded association of the all Tiv youths of Taraba State origin, has hailed the appointment of Sen. Dr. George Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement released on Tuesday in Jalingo, the State’s capital city, the youths praised the president’s decision to appoint the well-known political demagogue to extend his service to the nation in that capacity, describing it as a well-deserved honour.
The statement, jointly signed by the Chairman of the association, Comrade Fanen Dauglas Kaduna and the Secretary Comrade Jethro Saaior Yerga, highlighted Senator George Akume’s experience, antecedents and prowess in the political sphere of the nation
The association further commended the president for making a perfect decision by putting the round peg in a round hole.
The statement reads, “We commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing this erudite and seasoned politician to be a part of his administration. We have no doubt in his capacity, wealth of experience, and unwavering commitment to service and public trust.
“His vast knowledge and expertise in leadership, coupled with his loyalty and trustworthiness, make him highly suited for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation”.
The statement also described Senator George Akume as a leader with a track record of honesty and excellent qualities, having served as a Permanent secretary, Governor of Benue State for eight years, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for eight years and Minister of the federal Republic of Nigeria among several other positions.
The TTYM expressed confidence that the appointment would afford him the opportunity to help drive the agenda of the new government in Nigeria.
“Your appointment is an amazing opportunity, which is a reward for your loyalty and many years of hard work towards advancing the cause of Nigerians.
“We are also excited on your behalf because you are a great fit for that position and will deliver beyond the expectations of Mr. President.
“The entire members and executives of Taraba Tiv Youth Progressives Mission (TTYPM) pray that God grants you the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to perform the new assignment effectively”.
