Gunmen suspected to be bandits have invaded a mosque in Kankara local government area of Katsina, killing three and kidnapped several others.
A credible source in the area revealed that the bandits raided the mosque and opened fire on the Muslim faithful during the Isha’i evening prayer session, leaving three persons dead, four others wounded and unconfirmed number of worshippers abducted.
Source further explained that these hoodlums also moved into the town where they abducted a man and two women and also killed another man who refused to go with them.
“Unfortunately, the man’s refusal to go with the assailants cost him his life as he was mercilessly butchered for daring to defy the abductors,” the source said
The terrorists also attacked the residence of Sani Maikifi, a vigilante member, in Ungwar Tudun Boka within Kankara township on Thursday night,l but he narrowly escaped through the backyard while his wife and son were abducted.
