ABUJA: The second edition of police award and commendation ceremony has ended graciously in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja Nigeria where Governor Hope Uzodinma alongside other dignitaries across works of life were in attendance as 9News Nigeria reports.
Recall that Nigerian police deserves the right to be well funded to enable them discharge efficient and deserving security to Nigerians.
Democracy can only thrive if our police force is strong, and it can only be protected if our security agencies are empowered and efficient.
Addressing dignitaries and officers at the 2nd Edition of the Nigeria Police Award and Commendation Ceremony held in Abuja, Governor Hope Uzodinma stated that Democracy can only thrive if our police force is strong, and it can only be protected if our security agencies are empowered and efficient.
He further added that the police force and other security agencies have consistently demonstrated commendable capacity in maintaining peace and order across the country.

Accordingly, Governor Uzodinma highlighted their resilience and dedication to duty, have contributed significantly to national stability.
“In Imo State, we are witnesses to this improvement – our State is now considerably safer, following a difficult period of security challenges.
“While we look up to the Federal Government of Nigeria and the National Assembly to allocate increased funding to the Police and other security agencies to enhance operational effectiveness, we the citizens must show solidarity and moral support.
“I therefore encouraged the Nigeria Police Force to remain professional and redouble their efforts in safeguarding our democracy.
However, bedevilling challenge of insecurity in Imo state is a matter that demand very sensitive and immediate attention to handle because reported cases of attacks on innocent citizens and residents including farmers in Imo state is high and people are living in apprehension. Imolites are hopeful to benefit from this award.
