“WE ARE ALL MARCHING TO ASO ROCK WITH TINUBU/SHETTIMA COME 2023”
….DR. BETTA EDU, APC NATIONAL WOMEN LEADER ASSURES
“Whether they like it or not, Nigerian women, APC women will deliver the next President/Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That combination is no other than Tinubu/Shettima. We are fully prepared to deliver on that mandate.”
Above were the words of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu where she assured the presidential flagbearer of the Party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the total commitment of the women folk in actualizing the latter’s presidential ambition.
In a statement released by Her Special Adviser Political Matters, Seun Bosede Osamaye, while speaking at the inauguration of the Party’s Women Presidential Campaign Council, the elegant and scintillating numero uno of APC women folk, Dr Edu praised the personage of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu describing him as a man with the Midas touch who has enormous respect for the women gender. She further averred that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had proven in times past of his strong belief in women’s capacity to lead. Hence, the need for all women under her ascendancy to go all out for his candidacy while pulling other Nigerian women of all walks of life.
The APC stalwart reinstates her confidence and that of other women in Asiwaju’s presidency to do more for the women folk having laid a good track record in the past of pioneering a woman deputy governor which today is ubiquitous. While describing the Women Presidential Campaign Team(WPCT) inauguration as symbolic, she affirmed that the agenda and mandate of the campaign team is simple. And this is to deliver Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as president and vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come February 2023. The capacity women leader did not mince words when she gave strong assurance to go in company of other women to any length – across the sea and land, whether in the deepest underground or the highest mountain to deliver the candidates of the Party. This, she said was further predicated on the promise by the presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to give more than 35% affirmative position for the Nigerian women.
In her terse speech, the First Lady and wife of the president, Mrs. Aisha Buhari tasked the Party’s women to ensure massive mobilisation for women’s participation in order to ensure victory for APC in the 2023 general election. “They (women) have led to the success of our Party in previous elections. Today, we thank God as we meet to inaugurate the Women’s Presidential Campaign team. While men are in the front of war, women are the foot soldiers gearing the success of election.” She enthused.
Speaking further, she encouraged the women and the Party leadership as a whole to sign a compact, stressing, “Our winning strategy remains unbroken.”
In his Speech, Asiwaju Tinubu who described the Party’s women as partners in progress thanked profusely the women team for their unflinching support. He demonstrated his excitement, happiness and joy for having them behind and in front of him and his egghead vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima. He would therefore give them assurance of inclusive government after the Party’s victory at the poll in 2023. ” Hope is here, Security is here, Health is here, we will Empower and mainstream women”.
