Jos (9News Nigeria) – A frontline presidential aspirant under the platform Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has vowed to end the massacre of innocent citizens of Plateau and other States if elected President in 2023.
The Presidential aspirant and currently serving governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike said that the only project the APC has offered the people is banditry.
Wike, said this on Saturday while addressing the National Delegates of the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jos while expressing his intention and confidence that the PDP would win the Presidency in the next election.
According to the Presidential hopeful “The only project the APC has given the people is banditry and Killings every day, this is a shame to the APC administration in the State. The other day, 30 people were killed, another day 20 and just recently, over 100 people were killed, this is unfortunate and unacceptable.”
“Please just give me the Presidential ticket and all this insecurity will be a thing of the past,” He Said.
While lamenting that people can no longer go to their farmlands or go about their legitimate businesses due to insecurity, Wike expressed readiness to tackle the insecurity and the poverty that bedevilled the country if elected as the president of Nigeria in 2023
Wike, was in Jos the Plateau State Capital as part of ongoing consultation with delegates of the party across the country ahead of the party’s convention slated for 28/29 May 2023.
He said the APC has failed in tackling insecurity and economic security.
He lamented the incessant killings, describing Plateau State as one of the worst with security challenges where innocent citizens are been killed.
Wike said, ” I am here in person to make myself available to the people of Plateau and Nigerians at large. I want everyone to know that I will run for the office of the President”
He said that he was the only person who is capable of clearing the mess and rebuilding the Country caused by the APC.
Earlier in his welcome address, The Plateau State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Chris Adukuchili Hassan said that Wike, has been a friend of the People of Plateau State, He particularly recalled with a sense of pride how the aspirant waded in and resolved the internal squabble that bedevilled the party in the State leading to the winning of the bye-election for Jos North/ Bassa Federal Constituency which hitherto eluded the Party for almost 20years.
The State chairman of the Party, further said that Plateau delegates would surely consider Wike, stressing that it was a payback time taking into cognizance the numerous assistance the Presidential aspirant has offered to Party in the State.
