As a solution to the intractable security problems plaguing Nigeria, a technology guru, Anthony Amadi has officially launched a software Application, known as KwiKam which works on Android devices without requiring internet services.
Unveiling the App recently, Amadi, who is an Electronics Engineering First Class graduate of UNN noted that he was spurred by the need to not only help security agencies fight the lingering security challenges of insurgency, banditry, kidnapping among others but also help young businesses get easily located.
According to him, the App which works without internet and even a Simcard but uses GPRS capabilities to help its users discover services nearest to them is an Emergency, Nearme Services and a digital Address system that can also help users discover important services near them.
“The App works by generating Digital Addresses for your homes, offices, business areas e.t.c. For millions of businesses not already included in it, there’s absolutely nothing to worry about as your businesses can easily be added using Contact Us on the SideNav within the App”, he disclosed.
Amadi further stated that Kwikam App is already helping businesses get discovered no matter their locations by aggregating them, giving their contacts, addresses and distances they are away from us. “Its emergency sections help users with units to call Police Control Rooms, Road Safety, Human Rights, Fire Services or even Vigilantes among other emergencies that one may require”, he added.
On the specifics of how it works, the inventor said the emergency services provided by KwiKam can help you discover emergency services closest to users by actually providing them with access to their Contacts, Landmark Addresses and Directions. Users can also send their Location Info and as well, the issues around them to the registered contacts in their App.
“It does all these without using Internet access! This is why it is ideal and the most suitably adapted App for solving Address-related problems in continents like Africa whose hinterlands have no internet connectivity yet. The KwiKam App brings these solutions via the generation of a GPS-based code called Kamin-codes which represents a unique and private location code allowing for quick and accurate address.”
He further explained that the KaminCodes are easily exchangeable and also a memorable short-string code which is both immediate, free and functions without the internet.
