An international business mogul and President, World-wide, Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in the Diaspora, Ambassador Paschal Oluchukwu has urged the public to ignore Social media reports that an Ezza youths group has ‘adopted’ the embattled Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Ogbonna Nwifuru as it’s choice for the 2023 Governorship election in the State.

In a statement he personally signed and issued today in Abuja, Oluchukwu said the collective project and desire of the populous Ezza clan in the State to take a shot at the Ebonyi Governorship position come 2023 has garnered momentum beyond mere alleged racketeering endorsements of unknown and selfish individuals.

According to him, “The news making round various Social media platforms that the embattled Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ogbonnaya Nwifuru was endorsed as the choice of Ezza nation for the 2023 Governorship election merely exposes the level of desperation and ignorance on the part of both the alleged ‘endorsers’ and the endorsee.

Therefore, the report that some ‘Ezza-Ezekuna youths’- led by Hon. Victor Nwite, one of his aide, Haggai nwokpor, Prince Chika Igboke, Okwudili Sampson Nworie, Nweke Ikechukwu and Joshua Nwafor among others endorsed the sacked Izzi-born Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly during a recent Courtesy visit should be utterly disregarded and ignored by every well-intentioned Ezza sons and daughters.”

He said, “The fact remains that the Ezza nation at home and in the diaspora are more determined and focused on ensuring that it produces the next Governor of Ebonyi State in 2023 than some treacherous political foes whose stomachs have remained their gods can ever imagine.

Another is the fact that none of the acclaimed ‘Ezekuna youths’ mentioned in the alleged racketeering endorsement is even a member of the Ezza-Ezekuna Youths Association needless to lay claims of it’s leadership. It is only reasonable to conclude therefore that the lawmaker representing Ezza North West Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Nwite is merely pursuing his selfish agenda of trying to be in the good books of both his quondam leader, Rt. Honourable Nwifuru and his Party’s leader in Ebonyi State All Progressives Congress cum Governor, Engr. David Umahi.

In Oluchukwu’s reasoning, “Had common sense and wisdom prevailed on his part and that of his touted benefactor, Nwite who is the leader of the State’s House of Assembly should have informed Nwifuru that he came with his ‘rented’ immediate domestic aides and cronies some of who were not even from Ezza nation to ask for crumbs on his table for and on their behalf rather than drag a known and reputable Youth organization like Ezza-Ezekuna Youths Association into his fruitless, self-serving mission” he asserted, adding;

“Listening to the irritating remarks of one of the Speakers leaves one in utter bemusement as to the mission of the so-called ‘Ezza-Ezekuna youths’ and on whose mandate they were offering their purported ‘adoption’ of a Speaker who, despite having the constitutional powers to head and make laws for the interest and development of Ebonyi State successfully became a pawn in the political chessboard of the Umahi-led executive arm of government to pass wicked and authoritarian laws and anti-masses policies.”

Oluchukwu further differed, “In other to set the records straight, neither the Ezza leaders of any group for that matter has the authority or powers to adopt any aspirant for the Ebonyi 2023 Governorship election without the due process of the convocation of a solemn assembly comprising all the tribes that makes up Ezza nation at the popular Nchonu, Okpoku Ezekuna- the traditional gathering spot where any matter of interest to the most populous clan in Ebonyi, if not the entire South East Nigeria is democratically deliberated on and determined in the overall best interest of Ezza nation, home and in the diaspora.

Above all, it is trite to use this veritable opportunity to warn the youths of Ezza nation the world over who by now should have known and understood very perfectly the customs and traditions of our people in sensitive matters such as this”, he further warned adding that;

“This caution becomes more imperative considering the fact that Ezza sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora is working very hard to leave no stone unturned in it’s resolve and determination to produce the next Governor of Ebonyi State in 2023.

Those who may make themselves available to be used to truncate the ‘unstoppable but very democratic movement’ shall be meted with all the severity of sanctions they deserve to serve as a deterrent to others”, concluding that, “a word, as our people say, should already be enough for the wise!”
