The return of Senator Uche Ekwunife representing Anambra Central has received another boost as the Association of Past Presidents General (APPAS) in the zone unanimously threw their weight behind the incumbent Lawmaker on Monday.
The Association settled for Ekwunife , candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after concluding its intensive findings and analysis on the best amongst the candidates based on valued representation, project executions, human capital development, capacity and relationship with the association amongst others.
Speaking at Awka , Chairman of the association, Hon. Dr. Ozoh Okonkwo stated that Ekwunife’s performance judging by her rolled activities and projects sited in all the communities in the zone stands tall, adding that the association will work to deliver the lawmaker come February 25th.
Okonkwo stressed that the lawmaker has entrenched uncommon representation through strategic and robust legislative engagements, describing other candidates as no match to the senator.
Okonkwo said Ekwunife is a model of quality representation and should be emulated.
“The entire association of Association of Past Presidents General in Anambra Central do hereby endorse Ekwunife to return back to the National Assembly to consolidate on her legislative strides “, he noted.
Ekwunife, who described the endorsement as timely noted that she remains committed to the growth and stability of the association. She noted that she would not look back in uplifting the standards of living of her constituents
In her remarks, Ekwunife described the endorsement as an application for more sustainable development. She enjoined constituents not to be swayed by financial inducement from candidates without achievements.
The federal lawmaker stressed that the major candidates in the race had served in the past, however her scorecard distinguished her from the rest.
In another development, Ekwunife commissioned the skills acquisition center she expedited to Egwegwe village, Nimo in Njikoka LGA of Anambra State.
Commissioning the facility, Ekwunife noted that skill acquisition is one of the cardinal projects of the Federal Government and due to the paucity of Government jobs, youths are encouraged to engage in skill acquisition for substance.
The Federal Lawmaker encouraged the Youths of Nimo and Anambra Central to make proper use of the facility to achieve the aim of the project.
“On behalf of myself and the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District, I commission this project to the glory of God and the upliftment of the people of Nimo community and Anambra Central at large”, Ekwunife added.
Senator Ekwunife was represented by the project team led by the project director, Hon Ify Chinwuko.
