Muhammad Baba-Ganaru, head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars, has ruled out the possibility of him replacing Graham Potter as the manager of Premier League giants, Chelsea F.C
Mr Baba-Ganaru’s employer, Lobi Stars, made this known through the club’s official Facebook page on Monday afternoon, denying reports linking its employee with a move to Stamford Bridge as a possible replacement for Potter, who was sacked by the London club yesterday.
“Lobi Stars head coach, Muhammad Baba Ganaru has denied media reports linking him to Chelsea,” the club posted on its Facebook page of 41,000 followers.
Barely eight months after being named by the Blues as a replacement for then-dismissed manager Thomas Tuchel, Potter was sacked on Sunday following Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, leaving them 11th on the table and 12 points off the top four places.
Chelsea are currently in the market for a replacement with the likes of recently dismissed Bayern Munich manager, Julian Nagelsmann, former Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, Spain national team head coach, Luis Enrique, among names being discussed.
This is not the first time Lobi Stars have been in the spotlight for matters such as this. In November 2022, the NPFL club ruled out the possibility of signing football legend Cristiano Ronaldo following the five-time Ballon D’Or winner’s controversial exit from Manchester United
