Political Oppositions in Imo state Nigeria have hailed Governor Hope Uzodinma for his massive turnaround through many ways to improve the state which included the recent Skill-Up Empowerment and Health coverage for Imo Civil Servants and Vulnerable Persons.
The trend has struck the imagination of the opposition in the state thereby making his second term bid a true success story, 9News Nigeria reports.
The Governor, few hours ago has yet again flagged off another set of Skill-Up Imo Projects at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
Cohort 2 Digital Skillup is a project set to train and empower another set of 100,000 Imo Youths in Digital Marketing, Web and App Development, Content Creation, Basic data analytics, Graphics design, Phone and other digital device repairs, programming, Cyber Security et cetera.
This is in line with one of the Governor’s 5-point agenda which is to harness the benefits of Technology for the economic survival of the State.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Hope Uzodinma reiterated that there is no infrastructure as important as our Youths. He, therefore, charged them to take full advantage of the opportunities offered through digital skills training for the establishment of their businesses and take charge of the economy.
According to the Governor, Imo Youths are opportuned to control the State’s economy by being the operators and not seeking to be under the regulators which are the ministries.
He reassured Ndi Imo of his efforts of laying solid foundations for Imo Youths as it will help bring about lasting safety for the State.
Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Digital Economy and E-Government, Dr Chimezie Amadi, disclosed that the flag-off is for the second batch of the 300,000 youths to be trained and empowered in the digital skills set.
In a related development, what is described as a promise made and a promise kept, the Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma has flagged off the Universal Health Coverage For Imo Civil Servants and the vulnerable persons in the state.
This is in a bid for the Shared Prosperity Government led by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma to improve the standard of living for Ndi Imo as 46,000 Imo civil servants and 66,000 vulnerable persons in the state are enrolled in the Health project.
In his address at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Governor Uzodinma stated that Prosperity cannot be enjoyed without good health which is the key mission of his administration to the Imo people.
Governor Uzodinma disclosed that the program will avail Imo civil servants to be medically taken care which includes treatment of all manner of illnesses and medical checkups except for cancer illness.
The Governor urged the private and informal sectors to align with this vision of the Government to create quality health for Ndi Imo for poverty reduction and increase the value system in the state.
He urged civil servants to support the healthcare system established for their welfare and avoid hiding under bureaucracy to sabotage the efforts of the government to alleviate poverty in the State.
Speaking earlier, the Minister of State for Health, Barr. Joseph Ekumankama commended the Governor for his love for his people by ensuring that Ndi Imo gets the health services they need.
According to the minister, this is the largest single enrollment so far in Nigeria making it a remarkable and Laudable achievement of the Shared Prosperity administration.
