Former Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Nweze Umahi has been appointed Minister By President Bola Tinubu.
9News Nigeria had reported that report that the much awaited ministetial list has finally landed in the Senate.
The names of appointed Ministers in the list is currently being read by President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, forced the Senate into closed door session.
The closed door session started at exactly 12.15 pm after adoption of votes and proceedings of plenary held on Wednesday , July 26, 2023.
A highly dependable source among the Senators, told 9NEWS NIGERIA that the closed door session was called for arrangement on how the nominees will be screened and confirmed.
“You know the Senate and the House of Representatives, supposed to embark on 6 -week annual long recess from today but with transmission of names of ministerial nominees to us by President Bola Tinubu, for screening and confirmation ,we have to decide whether to wait for one week to do that or go for the recess and come for the assignment in between,” he said.
Our source had already confirmed that the name of Former Governor of Ebonyi State, David Nweze Umahi is on the list.
