It is obvious that very soon two communities in Ngor Okpala will be electricity powered by the Imo State Government through the relevant ministries and EEDC.
This was contained in a motion moved by the lawmaker representing Ngor Okpala in the Imo state House of Assembly on Wednesday 24-04-2024.
Amala and Alatia Autonomous communities in Ngor Okpala will soon be connected to the national grid ever since their lifetime, they have been without electricity, 9News Nigeria reports.
It is quite unbelievable that so some other communities in Imo state have not witnessed the beauty of electricity as gathered by 9News Nigeria since lifetime just as these communities mentioned in Ngor Okpala are suffering blackout from creation till date.
9News Nigeria reports that at the hallow chambers of IMHA, Wednesday, Dr Obinna Egu , member representing Ngor Okpala state constituency raised the motion to urge the Governor of Imo State to direct the Ministry of Power to work in partnership to connect both Communities to the national grid.
On the speakership of Hon CHIKE OLEMGBE, the Bill recieved deserving sympathy and support by the Honourable members who expressed surprises at such a challenging situation Amala and Alatia people are passing through while calling on the relevant agencies to as a matter of importance delve into action to help the people of the area.
The house is expected to give this Bill speedy readings and passage of the law to give these communities electricity without further delay.
Likeing the pathetic situation to the inconveniences of power failure by the EEDC within some hours in the locations where the citizens are enjoying electricity, it means that these two Communities and possibly more others in Imo state where there is no electricity will find it difficult to understand what government policies is all about in the public.
The Honourable members wondered what led to such delay and called for speedy readings of this bill to give Amala and Alatia in Ngor Okpala Imo state electricity.
While Chisom Ojukwu’s motion went for second reading for government to capture all the parts of the state to the Imo state investment promotion agency, A bill for a law to amend the Imo State investment promotion agency IMSIPA law number 5 of 2010 went for second reading and gained Honourable support by members of IMHA.
This bill accordingly is aimed to put Imo state Nigeria in the part of rapid investment and broad business promotion as 9News Nigeria reports.
