Former Senate President and Secretary to the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has finally joined All Progressives Congress, APC, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
9News Nigeria correspondent gathered that Anyim will be unveiled as a member of APC during the flagoff campaign of local government election in Ebonyi State on 13th July, 2024.
Recall that supporters of Anyim switched their allegiance to APC.
Formerly aligned with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Anyim’s loyalists announced their decision to join the APC months ago.
The defectors include notable figures such as former two-term House of Representatives member, Livunus Makwe; former two-term House of Assembly member, Oliver Osi and Aja Nwabueze, who served as the deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general election in the state.
Additionally, leaders and members of other political parties such as the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), and the National Rescue Movement (NRM), also switched to the ruling party in the local government.
