No fewer than nine persons were killed, while one injured in Congo commuinity of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sources from the community who confirmed the incident said that the injured victim is in a critical condition and currently receiving medical attention.
Residents of the area told 9News Nigeria correspodent that the incident occurred in the community’s market on Tuesday round 8 pm, shortly after the market had closed for the day, adding that unfortunate incident took place when most traders and customers had already left the premises, leaving only a few people behind.
This sad incident created yet another security tension in the area considering that various communities in Bokkos Local Government have in recent times come under attack.
Effort to reach the spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo before sending this report was yet to be successful.
