Açcording to Dewan, “With the new Members on board, we can now focus on purposeful legislation. We are united on our determination to serve the people of Plateau State”.

The Speaker urged the new Members to bring dividends of democracy to their constituents, saying, “We expect you to make a positive impact in your respective constituencies”

The five new Members and constituencies are: Pengana -Yakunu Sanda, Qua’an Pan North-Owen Kuryit, Qua’an Pan South – Maiyaki Theodore, Riyom – Dachung Dalyop, Jos South – Dalyop Gyan.

With the complete House, Plateau State legislative is now poised to tackle pressing state matters and deliver their campaign promises to the people.

However, with these five new Members joining the Assembly, the House now has its full complement of 24 members.

The composition includes 22 All Progressives Congtess (APC) Members, along with one Member each from the Young People’s Party (YPP).

The recent swearing-in follows a November 2023 Court of Appeal ruling in Abuja, which nullified the election of the 16 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Members due to the Party’s failure to meet the legal requirements for nominating candidates.
