A notorious terrorist, identified as a Boko haram member, Bochu Abacha, has surrendered to the Nigerian army.
This was made known in a statement by the Olaniyi Osaba, spokesperson of the Multinational Joint Task Force, MNJTF, Ndjamena on Saturday.
Mr Abacha who has terrorized areas along the Monguno- Baga axis,surrendered to the troops deployed in Kukawa local government area of Borno state.
This came as a result of the heightened operations of the MNJTF in fishing out terrorists as well as Abacha’s voluntary withdrawal from the cause.
Lieutenant colonel Osaba revealed that items recovered include one AK 47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 11 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a mobile phone, an Airtel Sim card, and N32,500.
In another development, troops of the MNJTF along with credible intelligence operatives have ambushed terrorists supplying logistics to Boko haram.
The terrorists were engaged in a fierce gun battle while conveying large logistics supplies in three Toyota vehicles at night.
According to Mr Osaba, one of the terrorists was killed, while the others fled and abandoned their supplies.
He also added that the recovered items included three Toyota vehicles loaded with foodstuffs, other miscellaneous items, and N2,000.
