The Lafia Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in Nasarawa State has kicked against the recent consensus arrangement which produced two Muslims as chairmanship candidates and running-mate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the area for this year’s Local Government election in the State scheduled for November 2nd.

In a letter addressed to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Friday, October 11th, the association expressed displeasure over the non-imclusion of its members in the consensus arrangement which has also produced a Muslim as Secretary to the Local Government Council.

CAN lamented that the incessant marginalization and undermining of the indigenous Christian community has gone in for too long and called for immediate remedial action from all the parties concerned for harmonious co-existence of all and sundry in the area.

They appeal to Governor Sule and the leadership of the ruling party to intervene and reverse the decision in order to give Christians in the All Progressives Congress and Lafia Local Government Area at large a sense of belonging for development to thrive.
