German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Wednesday, arrived at the State House in Abuja for a meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
Steinmeier landed in the country on Tuesday and was welcomed at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
The visit, which runs through December 12, 2024, includes a series of engagements with Nigerian leaders and stakeholders.
9News Nigeria reports that Steinmeier is scheduled to meet with President Tinubu and the President of the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Alieu Omar Touray.
Following his engagements in Abuja, the German leader will travel to Lagos, where he will connect with business representatives, visit a start-up hub, and interact with members of Nigeria’s cultural and civil society sectors.
Among those he is expected to meet are renowned artist Dr. Nike Okundaye and Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka.
