The National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the approval of financial disbursement for 136,221 students across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones as of January 1, 2025.
According to the figures released to 9News Nigeria on Friday, the North East recorded the highest number of beneficiaries, with 36,251 students approved.
The South West followed with 28,800 students, while the North West secured 26,595 approvals.
In the North Central region, 18,871 students were granted disbursement, while the South South had 15,179 approvals.
The South East recorded the least number of beneficiaries, with 10,525 students receiving approval.
This aim of the scheme is to ensure equitable access to educational funding nationwide, with a focus on bridging gaps in underserved regions.
Meanwhile, the organization has encouraged students to stay informed about the disbursement process and ensure compliance with all requirements to access the approved funds.
