The Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, will consume ₦24.6bn from the NSC’s ₦203.6bn 2026 budget, as Nigeria records a 300% increase in sports funding.
Key allocations include:
* ₦18.8bn for main bowl rehabilitation.
* ₦5.8bn for a high-performance athletes’ centre.
* ₦15.5bn for a new sports secretariat.
The upgrade aims to restore the stadium to international standard after years of deterioration that forced the Super Eagles to relocate home matches.
Big spending also covers AFCON, WAFCON, Commonwealth Games, and Olympic preparations.
