An African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain and lawyer, Kalu Kalu, has petitioned the European Union Commission in Brussels over alleged certificate forgery and constitutional violations involving President Bola Tinubu.
Kalu submitted the petition on Friday, alleging that Tinubu presented forged academic credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also alleged that the President failed to provide details of his primary and secondary education, describing the omission as a breach of constitutional requirements.
According to Kalu, the alleged discrepancies in Tinubu’s academic records could affect his eligibility to contest the 2027 presidential election.
“He has submitted false documents, false certificates to INEC that made him not qualified to run for the 2027 general elections,” Kalu alleged.
The ADC chieftain further accused Tinubu of undermining Nigeria’s constitutional order and using the presidency to consolidate political power.
He said the petition was intended to draw international attention to what he described as serious questions surrounding Tinubu’s eligibility to seek another term in office.
Kalu specifically referenced Section 137 of the 1999 Constitution in support of his claims.
However, the allegations contained in the petition have not been independently established as proof that Tinubu submitted forged certificates or is constitutionally disqualified from contesting the 2027 election.
