Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Bauchi State, has resigned from the party, raising questions about his political future ahead of the 2027 general election.
Kashim, a former Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, announced his resignation in a statement released to the media in Bauchi on Monday.
He said the resignation took effect on October 16, 2026, following careful reflection, but stressed that his commitment to the political development of Bauchi State remained unchanged.
The former SSG reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful leadership, economic growth, improved security and greater opportunities for young people and women.
He also assured his supporters that their political journey was not over, promising to announce his next move at the appropriate time.
Kashim said he would continue working with individuals and groups who shared his vision of a peaceful and prosperous Bauchi State.
Although he did not disclose his next political destination, he urged his supporters to remain calm, united and steadfast as they awaited further directives.
He maintained that his political mission transcended party affiliations, describing it as a commitment to the future of Bauchi State and Nigeria.
