- Nigeria Army bans ‘Okada’ in seven states
The Nigerian Army, on Sunday, imposed an indefinite ban on the activities of commercial motorcycle, popularly known as ‘Okada’ in seven states in the North-West region of the federation.
According to the army acting spokesman, Colonel Sagir Musa, who made the disclosure under exercise HARBIN KUNAMA, the ban is meant to curb banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities responsible for the insecurity crisis in those parts of the country.

Former Minister of Commerce, Mr Bello Maitama-Yusuf has been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as one of the members of the Board of Directors of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).
Mr Yusuf, 72, was accused of corruption by the Buhari military administration in the early 1980s. He went into exile to avoid prosecution.

The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, said the federal government has approved the construction for Warri seaport at the cost of about 3.9 billion dollars and also awarded contract for Abuja-Warri rail line.
