News reaching 9News Nigeria has reported that there have been heavy gun battle between security men at the Ekiti state government house and a heavily armed gunmen suspected to be from the police force.

Though 9News Nigeria reporters are yet to confirm the incident from the Ekiti state government house, Governor Fayose’s official twitter timeline has broken the news of the heavy shooting going on in the government house with the time of the tweet showing Wednesday morning – (11:00 AM Nigerian time on 11th July 2018).

According to the tweet, heavily armed gunmen believed to be Mobile Policemen have blocked the Ekiti state government house and shooting heavily.

Based on 9News Nigeria finding, it’s not yet confirmed if the gunmen were really men of the Nigerian police and on whose order they were carrying out the shooting.

However, the tweet from Governor Fayose’s official twitter handle reads that there is heavy shooting now going on in front of Ekiti Govt house by armed policemen brought by the APC.

The second tweet about 4 hours ago read “This is the entrance to Ekiti Govt House now blocked by gun wielding mobile policemen. The plan is to prevent our victory walk slated for today but we will remain undeterred. Power of God and the people will prevail over Federal Power.”
