Nollywood celebrity Charles Okafor has joined in the throngs of Nigerian super celebrities who for the interest of the country have joined forces with the youths to vent their detestation and desperation regarding the brutality by the highly dreaded Special Anti Robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police as well as the pathetic and unsavoury state of affairs in the country.
Charles Okafor spoke to thousands of protesting crowds citing that the demonstration is timely and that there should be a voice to address the state of the nation and thereby make way for a better future for Nigerian children.
“I am totally sold out to what you people are doing, because: If it is not now then when?” Charles Okafor asked while he charged the exuberant chanting youths.
Charles Okafor encouraged the protesters to not only clamour for the end of SARS but to also fight for total police reform.
He also stressed the need for the youths to speak out for the Nigerian police men and women who have been uncatered for, and their welfare not prioritised.
Charles Okafor said that the protest has so far yielded result in that SARS has been disbanded, but more needs to be done to tackle the enemies within. He then urged the youths to remain peaceful in their conducts.
