Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated a total of ₦1.5 billion in humanitarian aid to communities recently affected by devastating floods in Niger and Adamawa States.
As part of her intervention under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which she chairs nationally, the First Lady donated ₦1 billion to support displaced residents in Mokwa, Niger State.
In a separate relief effort, she also extended a ₦500 million cash donation to victims of last week’s flooding in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.
The donation, made through the RHI platform, was officially presented on Tuesday during a ceremony at the Adamawa State Government House.
The initiative also delivered 100 bales of Ankara fabrics and other essential relief materials to affected families in the state.
Representing Senator Tinubu at the ceremony, Hajiya Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President and National Vice Chairman of the RHI, said the gesture indicates the First Lady’s commitment to standing with Nigerians in difficult times.
“This support reflects the Renewed Hope Initiative’s dedication to alleviating the suffering of our people and bringing comfort in moments of crisis,” she stated.
