Multiple burials were held in Imo state NIGERIA on Friday having top Government functionaries and Dignitaries in attendance.
On Friday the former Deputy-Rector Admin, Desmond Chinedu Oparaku, (Umuoma Nekede) Obilobi Sunday Duruji Okoronkwo, (Uche street Owerri) Ezinne Genevieve Oparaocha, (Emeke Obibiezena) were all Buried Amidst Galaxy Of Dignitaries, Government functionaries, Traditional Rulers and Community Leaders In Attendance at respective communities in Imo state Nigeria.
Friday February 25-02-2022 the people of Umuoma Nekede, Emeke Obibiezena and Owerri Nchi Ise Communities laid to eternal rest their beloved relatives amidst tears.
The burial was attended by dignitaries from all works of life including relatives, in-laws, traditional rulers, community leaders, government functionaries and clergymen.
In Emeke Obibiezena, Late Ezinne Genevieve Chiakaonyeonye Oparaocha was buried in her country home having featured many Dignitaries which Included Chief and Lolo Dan Nwanojuo and Lolo Joy Daniel from Oru East local government area, Dr Vin Udukwu Fmr Commissioner for Health and many others present at the burial.Late Ezinne Genevieve Oparaocha was the biological mother of a popular Surveyor in Imo state Nigeria, Paschal Oparaocha and others.
In Owerri Municipality, Obilobi Sunday Duruji Okoronkwo died at the age of one hundred and eighty years and was celebrated by his family relatives in cheers and thanksgiving to God.
Our correspodent in Owerri gathered that the Late Obilobi Sunday Duruji was related to one of the most outstanding Monarchs in Imo state Nigeria, HRH Eze Morrison SJ EKE PhD Omadike of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community.
In a related development, Late Mr Desmond Oparaku of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community in Owerri West local government area of Imo state Nigeria was laid to rest in his aboriginal home Umuezerokam Nekede.
Before his death, late Desmond was the second son of Late Nze Reginald and Lolo Evelyn Oparaku of Umuezerokam Umuoma Nekede who while alive was well educated and excelled in both his early and tertiary school days with distinctions and won alot of laurels for his schools.
He worked in various capacities while in Federal Polythecnic Nekede FEDPONEK Owerri and rose to the position of Deputy Rector Administration before his death.
He was Deputy Rector Administration two tenures, coordinating Director Administration. Director Polythecnic foundation, Director Polytechnic Development, Dean student affairs, HOD Library and Information Science.
Late Desmond completed his PhD course and holds a double Masters degree in Public Administration from IMSU and Masters in Library and Information Science from ABSU.
The burial featured the likes of Eze Morrison Ekeh PhD, Eze Godwin Merenini Dibia-1, Eze Stephen Agumanu, Nekede Federated Union, NFU, National Association of library and Information Science students, Catholic Bible society of NIGERIA, St Francis of Assisi catholic Chaplaincy, Public Administration Students of Nigeria, Forum of Nigeria Polythecnic Alumni Association, Board of trustees, Academic Staff Union of Polythecnics, Creme of gentlemen of the press and In-laws from Anambra, Rector of Fedponek, Dr Arimanwa and entourage, HOD’s, Dean of studies and colony of staff and students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri who graced the burial.
It was indeed a heartfelt visit to these berieved families in company of the community public relations officer, royal cabinet members, the Chiefs and Umuoma Peoples’ Assembly. The three Ezes of Nekede, HRH Dibia-1, HRH Agumanu and HRH Omadike were all I’m attendance.
