Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has announced a support package for visually impaired gospel singer Christian Victor Eshiet popularly known as as Chris Vic, including a plot of land in Uyo, a four-bedroom flat, and a N100 million music studio.
The Governor also placed Chris Vic on a N1 million monthly stipend for the duration of his tenure.
Eno, who announced the gesture via his official X account on Sunday, December 7, 2025, framed it as a commitment to supporting citizens with disabilities.
“I have directed the Commissioner of Lands to allocate a plot of land in Uyo to Chris Vic, and I will sign the Certificate of Occupancy next week.
“We will also built him a four-bedroom flat and commitment N100 million to set up his music studio. This is separate from the cost of the land and the house.
In addition, as long as I remain Governor, he will receive a monthly allowance of N1 million”, he wrote.
Christian Victor Eshiet, 22, an emerging musician from Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, gained viral fame earlier this year through his performances on Season 4 of the De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt.
Despite his visually impairment, the singer captivated audiences with gospel medleys, including songs like “Kumama Papa”, blended with energetic dance moves that symbolised resilience and faith.
His performance drew some of the highest engagement on the show.
His collaborative performance with Team Unbeatable DC earned millions of viewers and likes on Facebook and TikTok.
Another rendition reportedly earned 3 million views, while a collaboration with Glory Henry and Paskal garnered more than 1.1 million views on Facebook, finishing as the second runner-up in the competition’s grand finale last month, and taking home N3 million cash prize.
Governor Umo Eno said the initiative was driven by a belief that “even in difficult moments, God is still good.
“Chris Vic shows us that praise is possible in every situation. I also want him, and all persons with disabilities, to know that this Government cares”, the Governor said.
