Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that he called Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and urged him to issue a statement pledging support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Wike made the revelation on Wednesday during a media chat with the press.
According to the FCT Minister, he personally reached out to Adeleke and advised him to publicly acknowledge the outcome of the election and demonstrate support for the President.
“I called Adeleke and told him to issue a statement that he will support Mr President and thank him for a free and fair election,” Wike said.
The minister had earlier argued that Adeleke’s victory was evidence that the current administration was prepared to allow voters to freely choose their preferred candidate, despite the fact that the candidate of the President’s All Progressives Congress (APC) contested the election.
