An Octogenarian in Imo state Nigeria, Mr Peter-Celestine Ukachi who turned 80 years this months has called on Government of Imo State, Spirited Individuals and health related NGO’s to rush to his rescue to safe his life.

The illness is called keloid and has been in his body for years before it started developing to this recent stage as gathered by 9News Nigeria.

When 9News Nigeria visited his Umuawuka Emii, Owerri North country home, the elder statesman was in a terrible situation that he cannot sleep all through the day and night because of the situation of the disease on his chest.

According to Mr Peter-Celestine, the illness started when he was young. It started from an outcome of Chicken-Pox and after due treatment of Chicken-Pox, it developed to a new disease and gradually began expanding to this stage.

He told 9News Nigeria (Owerri) that he has visited various hospitals including lagos state teaching hospital LUTH, UNTH Enugu, Orthopedic hospital Igwobi and 26 others for treatment but all to no avail.

No doubt, Mr Peter-Celestine has all this while sunk millions of money but nothing good has come out of it till date.

The illness has led him to various consultations from Governors Okorocha to Ihedioha tenure that resulted to a direction to a German hospital in Europe which has agreed and accepted to treat the illness head-on and give him free therapy within one month.

Through Imo foundation and relatives, he was linked to a Physiotherapist in Germany who told him that the only solution is to undergo a physiotherapy at the cost twenty two thousand (22,000) Euro hospital bill in oversea.

He was well assured that the illness will vanish through such a professional process which according to him, is lacking in Nigeria.

Mr Peter-Celestine is an old boy of Ghost college Owerri and has worked in various capacities in the ministry of Agriculture in the old Imo state.

During his civil service days, Peter-Celestine worked in the Relief farm settlement, Afikpo, Ministry of Agriculture owerri in the 1960’s. He finally was transferred to the Old Nekede Farm in Owerri Imo state Nigeria where he retired.

“I have pleaded with my House of Assembly member, Hon. Philip Ejiogu and the Local Government Area LGA Chairman, Hon. Engr. Lams to help me out to reach to the necessary quatters, spirited organizations and related agencies of Government for immediate assistance but till the time of this kindly intervention by 9News Nigeria, whom I called and narrated my stories to and they promised to make it public through this medium, nobody has come to my rescue, me Peter-Celestine cried out loud.

We are calling on the public to help this Octogenarian who is suffering from such Keloid. Keloid is an abnormal proliferation of scar tissue that forms at the site of cutaneous injury.
