The Jigawa state government has warned food vendors against diversion of meals under the Ramadan feeding scheme.

This is contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Special Duties to the Governor of Jigawa State, Auwal Sankara, in Dutse, just as he revealed that the government received reports indicating insufficient distribution of the approved quantity and quality of meals in 17 centres across the state.

Sankara used the opportunity to tell the vendors to be God fearing and bear in mind that the state government have secret monitors who are stationed to watch over the project.

He therefore urged stakeholders to fulfil the obligations expected of them to facilitate effective implementation of the project.

“As the commissioner overseeing the free feeding project, I warn the vendors concerned, to meet up to the set arrangements or risk sanction.

“On behalf of the government, I wish to further warn the vendors to be God fearing and bear in mind that we have secret monitors, watching over the project,” he said.
