In what sounds like a comic relief from a government who did nothing after multiple occurrences of massacre of helpless citizens in various parts of the country, loss of several hundred of soldiers in war front against insurgent, threat by legions of soldiers to resign from the military because of beeing neglected at the war front and beeing poorly equipped to fight terrorists, outright killing of protesters during the #EndSARS struggle, banditry for million of Dollars ransom which pundits says the “cinematography” is always scripted by some syndicates within the government which has summarily rated President Muhammadu Buhari as a laissez faire administrator in all aspects of security of lives and properties in Nigeria, the presidency after seven years of the disappearance of Leah Sharibu the only Christian girl who is still in captivity after the abdoption and release of over two hundred others school girls in a Government school Chibok in Borno, President Buhari wakes the sleeping dog with promise that he is still in search of the lost girl.
The promise of Mr President which would have been celebrated because he has been doing so in other cases of breakdown of laws and order is been mocked, dismissed and not taken serious due to his poor rating by Nigerians on insecurity.
The President assurance to release the Chibok girl which he says is still work in progress was handed down by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity in these words:
“The Presidency reassures parents and all concerned citizens that the missing students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, remain constantly on the minds of government as they are always on the minds of their parents”.
“The Presidency gives assurances that the release of the remaining Chibok girls is still work in progress”.
“No one is giving up hope here. Efforts to secure their release through various channels and activities of the security and intelligence agencies remain on course. The recent decisive push by the military against the terrorists gives hope that a breakthrough is possible and could happen anytime soon”.
“The Presidency asks for support, understanding and prayers for the military as they discharge their historic mandate to quickly finish off the insurgency war and free all citizens held hostage”.
