Victims of the fatal accident at Gbatse in Ushongo LG that happened on the 10/10/2020 were laid to rest today at Mbageva in Ipav, Gboko LG.
The unfortunate incident claimed the lives of Moses Tarnongu his wife Blessing Iveren Tarnongu (nee Adaa) and all their three children.
It was indeed a moment of grief and sober reflection as the Pastor spoke about Time and Accident, that we all should be aware that these two are out there lurking around therefore, we should always live ready.
In his oration, the Executive Governor of Benue State Dr Samuel Ortom called on the sympathizers to take solace in the fact that the family had impact on their lives as evident in the large turn up.
Dr Joseph Antyo Principal Special Assistant on Special Duties and Administration who delivered the Governor’s condolence message told the people to always look up to God in unquestionable times like this where an entire family is wiped out because of someone else’s carelessness.
Brother to the deceased Mr Dennis Mnege Ityavger extended the family’s heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Benue State for standing with the family at a terrific time like this, he prayed that God’s wisdom should never depart the Governor as he pilot the affairs of the State, and that God should also grant his desires. He also thanked the Secretary to the State Government Prof Anthony Ijohor SAN for finding time to visit them with kind words of encouragement. Also to Dr Joseph Antyo PSA for finding time to attend despite tight schedule and to the entire University of Mkar community led by the VC Prof Dickson Gernah, all principal officers and other staff of the university, he prayed God to help them full the vacuum left behind by his brother.
It was indeed heart aching to all who attended as five white coffins were lowered to the ground amidst tears and farewell songs from the body of Christ.
