Jos — Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested four suspected arms fabricators and gunrunners during intelligence-led operations in Mangu and Barkin Ladi LGAs of Plateau State.
The operations, conducted between October 7 and 11, 2026, led to the recovery of locally made firearms, an AK-47 barrel, a magazine and 42 rounds of ammunition.
The Army said preliminary investigation revealed an allegation that the ammunition was purchased at N3,000 per round from a security agents.The allegation is under investigation.
Security sources said the suspects and all recovered items had been taken to Headquarters of Operations Enduring Peace for further investigation.
The arrests form part of ongoing security efforts to dismantle illegal arms networks and disrupt the supply of weapons and ammunition to criminal elements operating in Plateau State.
