The lawmaker representing Kaduna North in the House of Representative, Bello El-Rufai, has dismissed calls on social media urging him to defect from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
Bello stated that opinions circulating online would not change his position, stressing that his loyalty remains with the 51,052 people of Kaduna North who elected him in what he described as a historic victory across all 12 wards.
The son of the former Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, said the only thing that could make him consider leaving the APC is If his father whom he calls “Mallam” instructs him to do so.

“If Mallam tells me to leave the party, I will resign tonight”, he said .
He also affirmed his loyalty to the current Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, describing him as his political leader and promising never to oppose him publicly.
Bello added that the APC has given him opportunities to work with top government officials, including the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olaniyi Cardoso, nothing that any political discussion he makes will be guided by loyalty, gratitude, and responsibility to his constituents not social media pressure.
