The wife of the Bayelsa State governor, Her Excellency, Mrs. Gloria Diri has joined the people of the state including those in the diaspora to wish her husband, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of the State, a happy 61st birthday.
Mrs. Diri, gave the birthday wishes during a praise and thanksgiving service held at the King of Glory Chapel in Government House in appreciation to God Almighty for sustaining, preserving, leading and guiding the governor all through his years till date.
“Celebrating my husband who turned 61 today is a thing of joy and I really wished he was in the State to be part of this thanksgiving service. I know he doesn’t like to do this. Nevertheless, I pray that the Lord will crown him with grace and wisdom to lead us right, and take every sicknesses away from him”, she said.
Mrs. Diri, expressed confidence in the ability of his husband to deliver on the campaign promises made to the people, saying that he is a focussed, experienced and dedicated to usher prosperity in the land .
“I thank God for his life. This is a man who does not take drug. God has blessed him greatly with good health. He has been a strong man who on a daily basis will be on the road doing exercise. This government has just started and you have not seen the best from him. Through him, the world will hear Bayelsa”, Mrs. Diri, stated.
In a sermon, Bishop Ebi Belepigha, said God is still in the business of doing miracles in the lives of those who trust Him, which according to him is evident in the success story of the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri.
The brief service was attended by top government functionaries, members of the clergy and Chairman, Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, King Alfred Diette-Spiff.
Prayers were offered for the Governor’s immediate family members and for the progress of Bayelsa State.
