2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Nigeria record biggest-ever win, thrash Sao- Tome and Principle 10-0

Napoli stiker, Victor Osimhen scored four goals as the Super Eagles walloped Sao Tome and Principle 10-0 in a 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on monday to give Nigeria their biggest win in football history.

Osimhen opened the scoresheet in 9th minute of the tie, before adding on each in 48th, 65th and 84th minutes.

This was his first hat-trick and haul for the Super Eagles.

Terem Moffi netted twice, just as Ogenekaro Etebo, Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman got one each in the tie.

Watford star Emmanuel Dennis, who was introduced in the later stages of the game, grabbed a goal to complete the demolition.

Last week, In his first international competition against ,The Sierra Leone, the Super Eagles newly appointed tactician, Jose Peseiro played 2-1 in Abuja to open his first engagement with a win in 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.

The Super Eagles now top the A standings with six points followed by Guinea Bissau with four points.

Osimhen is now the top scorer in the qualification series with 5 goals to his credit.

Nigeria next game for the biennial showpiece is in September with Guinea Bissau wh are placed second in the table with 4 points, while Nigeria is with 6 points from two matches.
