~ As Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye Takes Over As Second Bishop Since Creation Of Diocese
~ Magnificent, Our Lady Of Assumption Cathedral Gets Set To Hold Second Holy Mass.
The former auxiliary bishop in charge of Awka Diocese ,Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye will today be formally inaugurated as the second Bishop of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Bishop Okoye who hails from amatta adazi nnukwiu in Anaocha Local government Area will take over from the Pioneer Bishop, Bishop Hillary Okeke who is set to retire .
The ceremony is billed to take place inside the 80% completed Cathedral building being singlehandedly built by the Distingushed Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah .
The inauguration ceremony which is billed to host parishioners and representatives from all the 115 parishes in the diocese will also have in attendance the Apostolic Nunciature to Nigeria in the person of His Emininence Antonio Guido Filipazzi , Catholic Bishops Council of Nigeria (CBCN) ably led by the President- Most Rev Augustive Akubueze with Bishops from different parts of Nigeria already in town for the event, Catholic priests , friends and well wishers.
