The Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma in his quest for academic excellence for Ndi Imo, gets Presidential Approvals for a University Teaching Hospital for the Medical Students of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) and the full take over of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education by the Federal Government.
Briefing Presidential Villa Correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, Governor Uzodimma disclosed that the plan is to upgrade the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Owerri to a Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri which will be made available for the maintenance and management of the Medical School approved by National University Commission (NUC).
The Governor further stated that the President has also given a nod to the full take over of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education by the Federal Government.

This is following the institution’s compliance with the requisite requirements by the National University Commission (NUC).
