The Federal Government strides has discovered locations of oil bunkering activities in Niger Delta using a contractor and joint military forces.

This swift intervention has attracted alot of applauds from NIGERIANs all over the world while praying for sustainable measures to stamp down oil criminals.

About 58 illegal oil points has been discovered so far since the operation to end Oil theft on the waterways of Delta and Bayelsa States began as gathered by 9News Nigeria.

However it is crystal clear to note that the move to stop all oil theft in the country is a welcome development.

As a Nation, the joint patrol Force should go beyond discovering and stopping oil theft and also hand over the criminals to face the wrath of law.

Government on their part have to also focus on solving the problems in the oil producing areas without prejudice.

While speaking on television, Ex-militant leader, Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, disclosed that the low state of development at these regions and pollution control need to be addressed.

In his words, “It should take a holistic approach of human capital development, creation of jobs and infrastructural development.

“This is the only best approach to stop permanently oil theft at this region because poverty and unemployment level in the region is very high and this has a multiple effect on oil bunkering and theft of Petroleum products as they say an idle man is the devils workshop, Tompolo hinted.

It is expected f the Government to prosecute oil theft criminals to serve as deterrent to others who’s aim is targetted at joining the bunkering business and pipeline vandalization.

Therefore the steps pit in place to stop OIL THEFT across the oil regions in Nigeria must be Sustained.
