Former Governor of Imo State, and Senator representing Orlu zone Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has taken another dimension in politics as he directed his supporters and loyalist not to vote for party but go after individuals with good track records in leadership.
The erstwhile Governor of Imo State, made this disclosure at the burial of Lolo Caroline Uju, mother of Hon. Kingsley Uju, member representing Ohaji Egbema, Oguta, Oru West federal constituency. According to Okorocha he will soon make a broadcast where he will announce to his supporters and loyalist on whom to vote for in the 2023 general elections.
Okorocha who came in company of his son-in-law Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, said that he is no longer in support of partisan politics for now, stressing that he play a fatherly role in ensuring that Imolites vote those who can deliver dividends of democracy, saying that party politics have destroyed Nigeria.
In his words, ” In February I will tell you whom to vote,both in PDP and Labour party.I am here today to console with my political son Kingsley Uju and family and not for politicsq”. Okorocha stated
Also in his speech the former embattled Governor of Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha urged the crowd that gathered to vote PDP at all levels to restore unity in the country, even though there was disagreement as most youths chanted that they will vote for Peter Obi and their son Hon. Uju.
Earlier in a tribute Hon. Kingsley Uju described Late Mother as a virtuous woman who served God with all her heart, mind and soul. As a young enterprising wife to Nze Bartholomew Uju, she went into petty trading to help sustain the family, she used the proceeds from her business to assist not only her immediate family but her extended families too, due to her love for people around her.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion include, National Secretary of PDP, Sen. Samual Anyanwu, Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo,Hon. Pascal Obi, Hon. Jones Onyereri(PDP Orlu Senatorial candidate), Kingsley Onyegbule,among personalities too numerous to mention.
