Former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido says President Muhammadu Buhari does not know how to handle Nigeria’s economy.
He also lambasted the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing its government of intimidating members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Lamido spoke with newsmen on Thursday after a meeting with former Speakers of State House of Assemblies on the PDP platform.
The parley centred on his 2019 presidential ambition.
Lamido insisted that PDP members will not be discouraged despite what he called persecution by the current administration.
“We will be courageous. Nigeria has been around before APC and it will be around after APC”, he said.
“APC cannot take us hostage. We need to stand up. We need people to be courageous.
“We shall not keep quiet. It is our country. Enough of this culture of nepotism and fear.
“Governemt should be respected not feared. Government should be there for all of us, whether APC and PDP. 2019 will be a defining moment for Nigeria,” he said.
On declaration of Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose for the 2019 presidency, Lamido stated that the governor was only exercising his constitutional right.
