In a recent development, 196 soldiers deployed in the Northeast and other operational areas have submitted voluntary retirement requests to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja. This action coincides with the ongoing efforts to address pressing security challenges across the country.
Reports indicate that many of the departing soldiers have expressed an interest in joining the military forces of other nations, such as the British Army, Ukrainian Army, and various Commonwealth countries.
These soldiers, predominantly junior cadres from diverse army units nationwide, have received official approval for their disengagement from the Chief of Army Staff.
