As residents of Maiduguri, Borno State capital continue to struggle amidst flood disaster, there has been a heavy rainfall in the city.
However, the rainfall lasted for few minutes in the afternoon according to residents from different parts of the metropolis and Jere local government area of the state.
Some residents interviewed by this reporter also indicated that the rain has no negative effect to the already dire situation.
Similarly, there has been a network outrage in the city for about four hours.
The network services which went off around 12 noon, was restored around 3:00PM
The current flood incident has displaced thousands of residents and destroyed homes, businesses and roads network across the city.
While the water level has subsided in some areas, other communities are still inaccessible with their residents taking shelters elsewhere.
Other victims were however hosted in a temporary IDP camps established by the state government.
The disaster stems from an overflow and breach of sections of the Alau Dam, a water reservoir in Konduga local government area of Borno, which flows through to Maiduguri.
Among other things, the access water from the dam is used for irritation in local communities around the river, as well as potable drinking water in the city.
