Spanish giants – Atletico Madrid have reached a full agreement to sign Nigerian star Ademola Lookman from Atlanta, with all details now finalized between the clubs and the player.
The move comes after Giacomo Rasparori departed Madrid earlier in the window, prompting Los Colchoneros to intensify their search for a replacement.
The deal includes a €35 million fixed fee plus up to €5 million in odd-ons, while Lookman has agreed to a long-term contract after giving his final approval last night.
Atletico are now arranging travel and medicals for the Super Eagles star, who is set to add pace, flair, and goals to Diego Someone attacking options ahead of the new season.
Lookman has long been on Atletico’s shortlist, but negotiations have gathered pace over the few days.
Fernerbahce had appeared close to securing the Nigeria internationally after holding talks with Atlanta over €40m transfer.
However, Atletico Madrid have now moved ahead of the Turkish side and are on the brink of finalizing a deal.
