The Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon Wasiu Isiaka, on behalf of the State government and the people of the State, especially the sports community, has extended it’s deepest condolences to the family of former Sports Writers Association, Chairman, Mr. Hakeem Akintunde.
In a statement from the office of the Sports Commissioner, revealed that his passage, after a protracted illness, marks the end of a remarkable career defined by dedication, excellence, and an unwavering passion for journalism and sports.
Until his untimely passing, Mr. Akintunde served as the Director of Programs at OGTV and was a versatile broadcaster and a respected sports analyst.
Throughout his career, Hakeem demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the development of sports in Ogun State and across Nigeria. His passion for journalism and sports shone brightly until his last moments.
As we join his professional colleagues to mourn this painful passing, we pray for the eternal repose of his soul, may God grant his family the strength to endure this profound loss.
