The Nigerian army has found the vehicle belonging to Idris Alkali, a retired major general who has been missing for weeks.
The black Corolla with plate number MUN-670AA was found in a pond in Lafendeg Du community in Jos south local government area, Plateau state.
Texas Chukwu, spokesman of the Nigerian army, confirmed this to TheCable on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian army has also announced the discovery on Twitter.
The army tweeted: “Joint Task Force constituted by COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai comprising officers & soldiers from 3 Div Quick Response Team, Op Safe Haven, @PoliceNG #VIO @Fedfireng, as well as Local Divers have found the vehicle belonging to Maj Gen Alkali RTD at a pond in Lafendeg Du Plateau State.”

After the retired general went missing on September 3, Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff, had said the circumstances surrounding the disappearance will be unraveled.
