Fanev Readers Club In Partnership With Anayo And Mercy Foundation Organises First Reading Challenge, Quiz Competition In Ebonyi State.(Photos)

A leading reading group, Fanev Readers Club which seeks to encourage and contribute to the reading culture in Nigeria that was founded in October 1, 2019 by Nwachukwu Eze Aja in partnership with ANAYO AND MERCY FOUNDATION has organised first Reading Challenge, Spell Quest and Quiz Competition 2022 in Ebonyi State.

The epoch making event was held at Federal Government College, Okposi (FGC) from Thursday 27th – Saturday 29th October 2022.

<strong>THE WINNERS OF THE FIRST CATEGORY PRIZE<br>THE BEST THREE SCHOOLS<br>1st Position100000 Federal Government College Okposi<br>2nd Position75000 Good Foundation Secondary School Okposi<br>3rd Position50000 Eziokposi High School Okposi</strong>

A total of 48 Participants from 16 Schools participated during the event which was thrilling, impacting and eventful and in which they showed great appreciation for the opportunity to participate.

Books worth over 400,000 were distributed to all the schools in Okposi in preparation for the event.

Also, the prizes which are in three Categories; The best three Schools ; The best three students, The best three Coaches. The winners went home with over 500,000 naira in cash prizes plus several other consolation prizes.

Speaking during the event, the Founder of Fanev Readers Club, Nwachukwu Eze Aja said the event was organised to promote reading culture in Ebonyi State.

Mr Nwachukwu noted that in Nigeria, reading culture has suffered from widespread poverty, corruption, ineptitude and a dearth of dedicated quiet reading spaces like libraries.

He said the decline in the standard of education has seriously affected reading ability. He, however encouraged students to imbibe reading culture as it boosts wellbeing, community connectedness, and student grade improvement.

1st Position(#100,000) : Federal Government College, Okposi.
2nd Position(#75,000): Good Foundation Secondary School, Okposi.
3rd Position(#50,000): Eziokposi High School, Okposi.

The Best Three Students.
1st Position(100,000): Amos Favour Ikechukwu (Prime College, Okposi)
2nd Position(75,000): Paul Emmanuel ( Destiny Secondary School, Okposi)
3rd Position(50,000): Anthony Chinyere Blessing (Government Secondary School, Okposi)

1st Position#30,000): Mike Eze (FGC, Okposi)
2nd Position(#25,000: Mark Ifi (Holy Rosary College, Okposi)
3rd Position(#20,000): Stephen Ngozi Sophia (Good Foundation Secondary School, Okposi)

His Royal Highness, Onyiba Chuku Agwu, ODENIGBO -1 of OKPOSI OKWU appreciated the organisers of the event and encouraged the students to keep building a strong reading culture.

Some of the dignitaries that attended the event include ; HRH Onyiba Chuku Agwu, Odenigbo-1 of Okposi Okwu; Rev. J. O. Odii, President General of MGBOM NE ECHARA & A member of Board of Trustees Assemblies of God Church Nigeria, the prominent Nze Magnus Eze, South East Bureau SUN NEWSPAPER; Mrs. Chima Ijeoma Okikechi (ACA) Eastern Zonal Chairman/Chairman Abakaliki & District Society of ICAN and her team were all there to grace the occasion that happened live at Federal Government College, Okposi.

The organiser of the event, Mr Nwachukwu Eze Aja thanked the participants and all the dignitaries for attending the event.

According to him, “it was indeed a swell time with the entire students, teachers and principals.”

“The impact was so enormous.
The book read “YOU HAVE A BRAIN; A TEEN’S GUIDE TO THINK BIG” by Ben Carson and the entire exercises were experience of a life time.”

in his words he said ‘May God continue to bless you, empower you more and strengthen you and all yours.
The students and the entire schools prayed and blessed the organizer and sponsor for more increase.”
